Scott C. Halford graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor's in Multimedia, Business Systems and Technical Sales. While attending school, he founded a Multimedia Production company called Foursite Studios. He then formed a film festival titled after his company called Foursite Film Festival. The festival became his capstone project for graduation.
Since his career as a student, Halford has established a non-profit institute for film education, production and exhibition. The Foursite Film Institute is now the non-profit company that puts on the Foursite Film Festival.
Scott currently advises the Weber Arts Council and the 25th Street Association Marketing Committee. He is established a film showcase as part of the Ogden Arts Festival and is serving as the Artistic Director for Utah's High Adventure Mountain Film Festival. He will begin adjunct teaching video editing and other multimedia classes at Weber State University in the fall of 2008.
As a professional, Scott Halford is an accomplished filmmaker with over 50 short films to his credit. Many of those films have been shown at film festivals and won accolades around the world. He continues to freelance as a filmmaker, graphic designer, audio/video editor, web designer and photographer.
Scott's interests have taken him across the nation in the performing arts as well. He was a scholarship dance student at Weber State University for two years. He performed with the Orchesis Dance Theater and The Stern Dance Collective. He performed a duet choreographed by Erik Stern, which was selected to showcase at the American College Dance Festival Nationals in Washington DC. He has also participated in drumline and Symphonic Bands and acted in several films and stage productions.
In the future, Scott hopes to expand the film industry in the greater Ogden area to support the development of a film program for Weber State University and development of a motion picture studio. In this way, Ogden will be able to fully embrace the growing motion picture industry in Utah.
